“ECOISU”, an association of proactive students from various ISU faculties striving to make the world a better place through environmental care and protection, is participating in the organization of the XI Annual Youth Festival on Sustainable Development “VuzEcoFest” at ISU Student Association Coworking Space.

This year’s festival theme is adapting to the consequences of climate change at the level of companies and regions.

“ECOISU” participants have prepared an exciting festival programme:

April 12, 5:00 PM Plastic Recycling Workshop for Schoolchildren: an engaging workshop dedicated to Cosmonautics Day. Children will learn about the importance of separate waste collection and how garbage can be transformed into something useful and beautiful. Each participant will be able to create their own unique space-themed badge using recycled plastic lids.

April 17, 5:30 PM Cheese Swap Party: a cheese swap party is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of gastronomic delight, discover the secrets of cheese-making, and also have the chance to exchange things you no longer need. All items remaining on the racks after the party will be donated to charity.

Under the guidance of an experienced cheese maker, you will create real cheese with your own hands, learn about the intricacies of ingredient selection and preparation technology, test your knowledge of environmentally friendly cheese production, learn interesting facts about farms and sustainable development, and also be able to taste exquisite cheeses – from delicate and creamy to spicy and aged.

April 18-30 plastic bottle and lid collection campaign: we invite you to participate in a campaign to collect PET1 – the most common type of plastic that is easily recyclable. Through joint efforts, we can turn waste into a valuable resource and make our university cleaner.

All festival events prepared by ISU students will take place at the ISU Student Association Coworking Space located at Ulan-Batorskaya Street, 4.

“VuzEcoFest” is a cultural and educational project that annually holds events dedicated to sustainable development in universities of the Russian Federation and the CIS. The mission of the “VuzEcoFest” project is to improve the environment by implementing the concept of green universities and integrating the principles of sustainable development into the activities of universities, cities, and countries through unlocking the leadership potential of youth.
